From Prescott, Arizona to Cengkareng, Jakarta - a journey of faith that spans the world and touches thousands of souls.
FOUNDER OF THE FELLOWSHIP
Pastor Wayman Mitchell
Wayman and Nelda Mitchell were married for 63 years, until Nelda passed away in 2016. Neither of them had any formal religious education, but they experienced a powerful conversion in their mid-twenties. After responding to the call to preach the Gospel, they pastored several churches in Canada, Arizona, Idaho, Oregon, and California.
In 1970, they came to Prescott to take over a struggling small congregation. Shortly after their arrival, God saved a number of hippies and brought them into the church. God began to pour out a powerful move of conversion and growth connected to what became known as the Jesus Movement in the 1970s.
As God revealed His plan for discipleship, churches began to be planted throughout the United States and eventually in many other nations. The Mitchell family served as missionary pastors in Australia on three separate occasions to help accelerate the work taking place there.
Until early 2020, Pastor Mitchell continued to travel extensively around the world, preaching at conferences, rallies, leadership meetings, discipleship classes, and healing crusades held by our fellowship. He finally went home to be with the Father on September 21, 2020, receiving his eternal reward and leaving behind a worldwide movement of God that has transformed lives across the globe.
LEADER OF THE FELLOWSHIP
Pastor Greg Mitchell
Greg and Lisa Mitchell have been married for more than 38 years. Both of them were powerfully saved as teenagers Greg in the Prescott church in the United States, and Lisa in her hometown church in Perth, Western Australia. After they married, they were discipled and trained for ministry, and were later sent out from the Potter’s House Perth, Western Australia.
In 1986, they pioneered a church in Launceston, Tasmania, and later pastored two other churches in Melbourne, Australia. In 1997, they became missionaries and pioneered a church in Eldorado Park, Johannesburg, South Africa. During their 7.5 years there, they witnessed incredible conversions and miracles. God helped them raise disciples, plant new churches, build a permanent church building, and establish a conference center for our fellowship churches in South Africa.
They later returned to Prescott, where they have been pastoring The Potter’s House Prescott since 2004.
LEADER OF THE NETHERLANDS FELLOWSHIP
Pastor Nomdo Schuitema
The first church in the Netherlands was planted by Pastor Wayman Mitchell in 1978 through a small Bible study group. This group consisted of around 30 people.
The church in the city of Zwolle (called De Deur Zwolle) is currently responsible for hosting its own conference every six months under the leadership of Pastor Nomdo Schuitema. These conferences are attended by many representatives from various nations.
“De Deur Nederland” (The Door Netherlands) now has more than 60 churches across the Netherlands and over 25 missionaries and local pastors in other countries such as South Africa, Peru, Curaçao, Suriname, China, the Czech Republic, Portugal, Aruba, Cape Verde Islands, Indonesia, and many more!
PASTOR
THE DOOR MINISTRY INDONESIA
Pastor Ralf Schuitema
The Door Ministry Indonesia was planted by a Dutch church in 2012. Our church began with evangelism outreaches in malls and on the streets. Most of our congregation consists of people whose lives have been changed and transformed by the power of God.
As they continued to fellowship and study the basic principles of the Bible, they made a commitment to live for God leaving behind their old habits and pursuing a sincere desire to serve God by sharing the Gospel of hope, salvation, and genuine life transformation with others.
Our first church began in the Grogol area, and in 2017 we moved to the Cengkareng area. Our mission as believers and as a local church is to pray for, train, invest in, send out, and support workers (in God’s harvest field) to reach every city and island in Indonesia, and the whole world, for Jesus!
